Statement from the family of Michael K. Deaver

Today, surrounded by his family, his wife, Carolyn, his daughter, Amanda and his son, Blair, Michael K. Deaver , 69. passed away peacefully at home in Bethesda, Maryland, at 8am. Over the past several months, he battled pancreatic cancer with the courage, grace and good spirit that he carried throughout his life. We are so proud of him. In the end, he stood as the model of a man who not only loved life, but lived life right, one day at a time.

Michael Deaver was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, and everyone loved him very much. He returned that love so many times and in so many ways. He gave his family, his friends, his community and his country everything we could have asked for and far more. He will be forever missed.

Deaver is survived by his wife, Carolyn, daughter, Amanda Deaver of Washington DC, Blair Deaver of Bend Oregon, sister, Susan Wiggins of Tehachapi California, brother, William Deaver of Mojave California, and three grandchildren.

Services will be held after Labor Day. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Clean & Sober Streets (P.O. Box 77114 Washington, DC 20013), Community Hospices (3720 Upton Street, NW, Washington, DC 20016) and Father Martin’s Ashley (www.fathermartinsashley.com).
