The Edelman career pathing model offers our people opportunities to dive into new and often international jobs, boldly reinvent themselves and pursue their interests in ways that benefit both them and the firm.
We have a global mobility policy that outlines clear steps for employees to pursue new opportunities within Edelman, while balancing the needs of our offices and markets. Our goal is to hire talent locally, and many of our office managing directors hail from the countries where they are currently located. Our global mobility programs provide our talent with the challenges and opportunities they need to contribute fully to the shared success of our firm. These opportunities include intra-regional mobility programs in which we transfer top performers to better serve a client or help build Edelman’s presence in a new market.
Established in 2010, the Global Fellows program sends DJE employees abroad for up to 12 months to gain firsthand experience working in different markets. The program advances a global culture and transfers knowledge across regions, while affording Edelman people the opportunity to gain valuable global experience that benefits our firm, our clients and themselves. Fellows immerse themselves in a local business environment and challenges, while playing significant roles with Edelman clients. They also work with local teams to better leverage the global Edelman network.
While on assignment, Fellows blog and tweet on a regular basis to keep their colleagues informed about their experiences. When they return to their home office or transfer elsewhere, they are matched with one of our key global clients.
Meet our 2016 Daniel J. Edelman Global Fellows, who will transfer from their regions to our Edelman offices in Chicago, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Paris, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Stockholm, and Washington, D.C. in the video below:
