Edelman helped AdvaMed implement a first-of-its-kind effort to increase awareness about the benefits of medical technology and promote advocacy for their efforts in Washington, by creating successful, highly visible, mini-campaigns on Value and Innovation to educate inside-the-Beltway influencers.

Edelman developed the “Free Them Now” campaign for the Moroccan American Center for Policy (MACP) to reach out to influencers and foreign policy experts to advocate on behalf of the Moroccan POWs, the world’s longest-held prisoners of war. Named the best campaign of 2006 by the International Public Relations Association, the campaign helped to release 404 men held in captivity.

Edelman’s Public Affairs practice creates programs to influence public opinion, promote regulatory and legislative initiatives, build reputations, position litigation and manage issues. The practice has more than 200 professionals in key political capitals, including Brussels, Beijing, London, Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Our staff of communicators brings industry-sector knowledge and political acumen to programs aimed at elite media, opinion leaders and policymakers.

Our vantage point provides clients the insights they need to shape policy at the global level and navigate the intricacies of local governments. We help clients forge relationships with third-parties, NGOs and sovereign governments to achieve their economic and political objectives.

Running our public affairs programs like a political campaign, we orchestrate a wide range of strategies and tactics – influencing policy through media and online outreach, grasstops and grassroots mobilization, alliance development and advocacy advertising. We create ground-breaking and multi-faceted communications campaigns to shape public opinion, raise awareness and change attitudes, promote social and policy initiatives, manage issues and build reputations.

Edelman’s extensive offering includes access to nationally and internationally respected communications and public affairs advisors – a distinguished group of bipartisan strategists and policy experts in areas such as international affairs, global energy issues, financial services and messaging strategies. See here for a full listing of our international consultants.
