Tony Blankley, Executive Vice President, Global Public Affairs

Tony Blankley is a visiting senior fellow in national-security communications at the Heritage Foundation; an on-air political commentator for CNN, NBC and NPR; and a syndicated columnist for Creators Syndicate. Tony was editorial page editor of the Washington Times from 2002 to 2007. From 1990 to 1997, Blankley was press secretary and general adviser to Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Before that, he worked for six years for President Ronald Reagan in a variety of positions, including speechwriter, senior policy analyst and deputy director of planning and evaluation.

Kathleen Lacey, Executive Vice President, Financial & IR Comm, Edelman

Kathleen Lacey has a wealth of experience as an investment banker and consultant, concentrating primarily in the areas of private equity, municipal finance and corporate and governmental affairs. Kathy served as a partner with Core Capital Group and as founder and president of Lacey & Heilbron, Inc., a communications and private equity firm serving clients in the enterprise, entrepreneurial, academic, public affairs, and government and not-for-profit sectors. Kathy previously worked for Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis and for Boston Mayor Kevin White.

Robert M. Shrum, Senior Counselor


Robert Shrum is a senior fellow at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. He serves as a senior counselor for Edelman and provides clients with a strategic perspective on the national political landscape. Described by the Atlantic Monthly as “the most sought-after consultant in the Democratic Party,” Bob has spent his career at the center of Democratic politics. Bob was chief strategist for the Kerry-Edwards campaign in 2004. He served as a senior adviser to Al Gore’s 2000 Presidential Campaign; to the campaign of Prime Minister Ehud Barak of Israel; and to the British Labour Party in the 2001 and 2005 Parliamentary campaigns.


Stan Greenberg, Senior Counselor

Stan Greenberg provides strategic advice for leaders, companies, campaigns and NGOs working to advance their issues in tumultuous times. He is co-founder of Democracy Corps—a nonprofit initiative providing opinion research and strategic advice to aid progressive organizations. Stan has been described as “the De Niro of all political consultants” and “an unrivaled international ‘guru’.” He has served as a consultant for many congressional campaigns, international leaders and corporate clients. He also served as a principal advisor to the Democratic Leadership Council during the formative years of change (1988-1994) for the Democratic Party.

Steve Schmidt, Vice Chairman, Public Affairs

Steve Schmidt is one of the top public affairs and political strategists in the country. Schmidt most recently was a partner at Mercury Public Affairs, where he led the firm’s operations in California. He has served in positions at the highest levels of politics and government, including senior advisor to John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, campaign manager for the 2006 re-election of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and deputy assistant to the president and counselor to the vice president in the White House.

Matt Miller, Senior Counselor

Matt Miller is a columnist, radio host, best-selling author and consultant whose work focuses on agenda-setting ideas and creative problem-solving in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Matt is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress; a columnist for The Daily Beast; a contributing editor at Fortune; and the host of “Left, Right & Center.” A former senior advisor in the Clinton White House, he provides counsel to corporate, nonprofit and government organizations on issues of strategy, policy and communications. He previously wrote a nationally syndicated column for Tribune Media Services and served as a guest columnist for the New York Times
Op-ed page.

Paul Walker Bledsoe, Senior Counselor


Paul Walker Bledsoe is director of communications and strategy for the National Commission on Energy Policy, an independent bipartisan group of leading energy experts. He is also president of Bledsoe & Associates, LLC, a strategic public and corporate policy firm specializing in national and global communications, which includes among its clients one of America’s largest corporations and one of the nation’s leading universities. From 1998 to 2000, Paul served as director of communications for the White House Climate Change Task Force, overseeing communications on global climate change and energy issues for former President Bill Clinton.

Ken Adelman , Senior Counselor


Ken Adelman is an expert on international issues with more than 25 years of experience in government, business and media. He is a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and also served as director of the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency. Ken was a member of the Defense Policy Board to advise Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, for whom Ken worked three times since 1970. He maintains contacts with elite media in New York and Washington.

 

Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, Strategic Advisor, Brussels

Ambassador António Martins da Cruz has more than 30 years of political experience, including roles as Ambassador to NATO (1994-1999); to the Western European Union (1995-1999); and to Spain (1999-2002). In 2002, António became Minister for Foreign Affairs, while also chairman of OSCE, the world’s largest regional security organization. António’s political ambitions began in 1971 when he served in the Portuguese Foreign Service. He is currently chair of the International Relations and Defense Commission of Portugal’s Social Democrat party.
