EDELMAN IS NAMED LARGE AGENCY OF THE YEAR 2006
Firm Also Named Large Agency of the Year by The Holmes Report
March 06, 2006, New York -- Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm, was named large agency at the annual PRWeek awards, which were held Thursday, March 2, 2006.
“These awards are a testament to our employees’ hard work and creativity as well as the world-class companies that entrust us with their brands and reputations,” said Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman. “It also demonstrates the advantage of being an independent firm with the ability to judiciously re-invest in our people, systems and clients.”
Edelman also received two other PRWeek awards and two honorable mentions including:
• General Electric and Edelman: GE’s Ecomagination – Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year.
• Unilever and Edelman: Dove Campaign for Real Beauty – Consumer Launch Campaign of the Year
• Starbucks Entertainment and Edelman : It’s the Experience – Honorable Mention Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year
• General Electric and Edelman: GE’s Ecomagination – Honorable Mention Campaign of the Year
It was also announced today that Edelman was named Large Agency of the Year by the Holmes Group, publisher of one of the industry’s leading newsletters.
These awards come in the wake of several other accolades for Edelman in recent months. The firm was named best public relations agency in AdvertisingAge’s annual “Best Agencies” issue. It was also named “Editor’s Choice” by PRWeek for 2006 and European Network of The Year for 2005 by the Holmes Report.
In Asia, the firm’s regional president, Alan Vandermolen, earned PRWeek’s Asia PR Professional of the Year, while Edelman was named runner-up for PRWeek’s Asia Network of the Year.
