General Motor’s Michael Wiley Joins Edelman’s me2revolution as Senior Vice President

August 28, 2006, New York -- Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm, announced today it has hired Michael Wiley to SVP in the firm’s global media lab, known as the me2revolution. Wiley most recently worked at General Motors as Director of Global Communications Technology and New Media where he developed the company’s innovative new media strategy to help GM improve both internal and external communications including the GM FastLane Blog, GMability.com, the GM Media Online and GMTV.

Wiley will be directing the me2revolution’s development of programs for clients within Edelman’s Corporate practice, which provides counsel on corporate reputation management, employee engagement, issues and crisis management, and financial and investor communications.

Wiley’s experience includes agency, association and global assignments as well as involvement with various internet startups during the 1990’s. He has been the recipient of various industry honors and awards and has been quoted by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, National Public Radio and others. He has relocated to Chicago and will be working in Edelman’s Chicago office.
