Edelman Digital today announced that David Armano will be taking on a new role as global strategy director, Key Accounts and Brad Mays will be named general manager of Edelman Digital, Chicago. Armano will report to Cricket Wardein, head of Edelman’s U.S. Digital practice while Mays will report to Rick Murray, general manager, Edelman Chicago.
Globally, the Edelman Digital practice has grown rapidly in the last few years, expanding work for large key global clients. The practice now has over 1,000 employees and continues to see even more market demand for social, digital and integrated marketing. These leadership changes are intended to help capitalize on this growing opportunity.

In the newly created position, Armano will be tasked with uncovering and developing growth opportunities focused around a core of key Chicago and U.S.-centric clients with global reach. For select accounts and assignments, he will partner closely with account leads and Digital account leaders. He will provide senior-level guidance to CMOs as well as digital marketing and social teams on the client side. Armano is considered an industry thought leader on the subject of social media for business and has over 80,000 subscribers to his blog and Twitter stream. Prior to joining Edelman in 2009, he was a part of the founding team of social business consultancy Dachis Group.
Mays, who joined the firm last year to lead Digital in the Southwest, will replace Armano as head of Edelman Digital, Chicago and will now oversee 75 employees. Mays has close to 20 years of marketing and communications experience and specializes in helping large brands understand, navigate and maximize online conversations.
