Edelman today announced that Denis Edwards, formerly of Milwaukee-based Manpower Group, has joined as the firm’s global chief information officer. He will report to Matthew J. Harrington, Edelman’s global chief operating officer.
Based in Chicago, Edwards will oversee the firm’s information technology systems and infrastructure globally, including internal and client-facing solutions.
“Denis brings to Edelman a 20-year track record of artfully leading IT teams to build advanced, global technology systems that achieve business goals,” said Harrington. “His extensive international experience coupled with his work in the digital space is critical to us as Edelman continues its global growth course.”
At Manpower Group, Edwards oversaw IT operations in 82 countries, and partnered with the chief marketing officer to develop award-winning social media career development solutions. His team was recognized by Information Week for its innovative delivery of IT services, earning the company the 45th spot on the magazine’s list of 500 most innovative organizations in 2011, and No. 130 in 2012. In addition, Forbes magazine ranked Edwards as No. 14 on the list of CIOs from Fortune 200 companies that effectively leverage social media. In 2012, he was also recognized by ExecRank as No. 7 on its list of distinguished CIOs.
Prior to Manpower, Edwards held top IT leadership positions at both startups and large corporations including Cadbury-Schweppes (now Kraft), Marriott International and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He has a master’s certificate in information technology from the University of Maryland, a bachelor’s of Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University and is a lean six sigma black belt.
