Published

Edelman today announced the appointment of Terry Wade as SVP and head of the energy and corporate communications offerings in its Houston office. Wade was most recently Houston bureau chief for Reuters, where he led a team of journalists covering the energy sector. He will oversee a diverse range of corporate communications clients, ranging from energy to chemicals to financial services. In the energy sector, he will lead Houston’s energy portfolio which spans upstream, downstream, renewables, power and professional services, along with business development efforts.

“Our clients face tremendous uncertainty across business, geopolitics and communications,” said Chris Manzini, general manager. “Now, more than ever, they need help evolving their approach to communications to more effectively navigate the complex landscape and build trust with their stakeholders. Terry will contribute his unique and global perspective to our growing and increasingly diversified energy portfolio.”

Prior to leading the bureau in Houston for Reuters, Wade reported throughout Latin America for 13 years as a correspondent in Brazil and bureau chief in Peru. He began his career in New York City with a financial and investment advisory firm where he structured municipal bond financings and re-financings. Over his nearly 20-year career, Wade has gained expertise in energy, mining, financial markets, macroeconomics, crisis situations, politics and Latin America.

Wade joins a larger team of former top-tier journalists at Edelman from leading outlets such as Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, People and others who have brought their unique abilities to create stories, videos and visual content that not only grabs audiences’ attention, but moves them to engage and share their experiences.

Wade has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree from MIT. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.

Edelman continues to pave the way in communications marketing, most recently developing impactful work integrating virtual reality, B2B lead generation, employee engagement, video influencer programming, and innovative solutions to transform clients’ businesses.
