Leigh Nakanishi

Leigh helps lead Edelman’s global Data Security & Privacy group in close coordination with leaders from the Corporate, Technology, Public Affairs and Crisis and Risk practices.

Leigh specializes in thought leadership, policy analysis and issues management on broad range of data security and privacy topics and technologies. He currently counsels several clients including Juniper Networks and The International Association of Privacy Professionals. Prior to joining Edelman, Leigh managed communications campaigns for Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing group at Waggener Edstrom. He worked closely with Microsoft’s Corporate Privacy and Global Security Strategy and Diplomacy (GSSD) teams to help positively position the company’s privacy and critical infrastructure protection efforts to policy makers and other key audiences.

Leigh is a regular speaker on data security and privacy communications at industry events including the Privacy Identity and Innovation Conference, Online Trust Forum and Merchant Risk Counsel.
