What is your title/practice? Account manager, Consumer Marketing

How many people are in your office? 36

In 140 characters, what does your job entail? My job is very diverse, I get the chance to learn so much in different areas. My job is about working with people, creating programs, telling stories. I need to explain how the Quebec market is different than the rest of Canada. I work with many different types of clients: sports, fashion, food, retail and more.

How do you commute to work in the morning? I bike to work (5-6 months a year). I walk or take my car during the remainder of the time.

What might you find yourself doing around 10 a.m. on a regular work day? Answering emails.

What are your top two sources of news and how often do you check them? La Presse (once a day) and Facebook (sounds funny, but a lot of my Facebook friends post links to very interesting articles).

Which social platform do you use most often? Facebook.

What do you like best about your job? Organizing events for clients.

How do you think the PR trends in your region differ from other regions? Quebec has its own way! First, just in terms of language, the fact that we’re the only French-speaking province in Canada makes all of our PR communications different. Quebec media are more hesitant to BRAND an article; the journalists  do not want be seen as if they are favoring one brand over another. Media relations is more casual and friendly here.

What’s one thing you wish you knew as a recent college graduate? What media calls were!

What’s your favorite part about the Edelman culture? Feeling like you’re a part of a second family.

How do you feel that the work you’re doing in PR will #ImpactTomorrow? I feel like our work will help make consumers more aware of topical issues, but also that we will have a more important impact on industry decisions.
