Daniel Fu is a senior digital planner originally based in Shanghai and currently on assignment in Stockholm as a DJE Global Fellow for Edelman Deportivo. He believes a good story with a good purpose will always make people tick, regardless of the market. Daniel chatted with us about his office routine, Edelman culture and what helps boost his productivity. Read our conversation below:
Why did you want to work for Edelman?
Edelman’s global network allows me to have a global perspective and vision of communications marketing. Also, the possibility of working with the best people in the industry keeps me inspired.
What is the first thing you do when you get into the office?
I say “hi” to the people there and make a morning joke.
What is your favorite part about working here?
I enjoy working across regions and coming up a campaign idea that embraces different cultural elements. Traveling across various regions for projects is interesting too.
How is working in Shanghai different from working in Stockholm?
The difference mainly lies in the market – what makes the audiences and the media tick is different because these two markets are different. But a good story with a good purpose will always make people tick.
Where is your favorite place to hang in the building?
At Edelman Deportivo, in Stockholm, my favorite place is the pantry because the refrigerator is always full – thanks to Andreas Carlsson.
What trait do you value the most in your co-workers?
I value their passion and their expertise.
What productivity tips would you have for others?
Be honest, don’t work alone and communicate.
