Instagram has confirmed that they will introduce live video on the platform. This live-streaming feature is reported to have a “schedule” button, which will notify users when the broadcast will start. It will also be presented next to Stories and will showcase “popular live broadcasts.” Additional details of this new feature are still to come.
Facebook announced a new feature called “Universal Inbox” to help marketers stay on top of conversations across Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. The update will allow marketers a single stream of cross-channel notifications so they won’t have to bounce from app to app. Currently the feature is being tested with select users and will be available more broadly in the coming weeks.
This week, Twitter is rolling out QR codes to iOS and Android apps to help users promote their own accounts and make it even easier to start following other users. Similar to Snapchat’s QR codes, users can grab their unique code by tapping the gear icon and selecting “QR code” from the drop-down list.
