Schmidt & Shrum: Conventional Wisdom

The Democrats’ “Big Dog” took center stage last night as Bill Clinton wowed the Party’s convention crowd with his nominating speech/lecture/rallying cry for President Obama.

In this first of a series of video commentaries on the election that we will be posting over the next two months, Edelman’s own big dogs – Republican Steve Schmidt and Democrat Bob Shrum – weigh in with their thoughts about how well Democrats and Republicans are using the dueling conventions to litigate their respective cases on whether the President deserves re-election. Schmidt and Shrum give the message edge to Democrats at this point. If true, it may reverse the momentum Team Romney has been enjoying since mid-summer, as outlined by our research team with their latest poll-tracking analysis.
