The triple crises of the Covid-19 pandemic, the related economic downturn and the urgent need to address systemic racism, are combining to upend peoples’ fundamental values, priorities and expectations, and profoundly testing our trust in societal institutions.

Now in our 21st year, please join us for the global virtual unveiling of the 2021 Edelman Trust Barometer, the world’s most robust exploration on trust across 33,000 respondents in 28 markets. This year’s study will examine today’s re-balancing of power, assess which institutions are gaining and losing trust and provide insights to help CEOs and other leaders chart a path forward.

This year's report seeks to answer:

  • Has government lived up to the heightened trust placed in its leadership at the height of the pandemic?
  • Has business delivered on its multi-stakeholder promise in the context of pandemic-related disruptions, job losses and addressing issues of racial justice?
  • How well are we responding to not only the pandemic, but also the infodemic — the ongoing battle for truth amid skepticism of science-based solutions to our challenges?

Our global launch event, in partnership with the Financial Times, will bring together an expert panel to discuss the implications of the 2021 study’s findings and explore how each institution, particularly business, is performing against multi-stakeholder expectations.
