Katie Burke is a leading corporate affairs strategist with twenty years of experience at the highest levels of government and business. Over the course of her career, Katie has counseled CEOs, boards of directors and elected officials on communications strategy and execution.
Katie joined Edelman in 2008 and has held a number of executive roles at the company since then. She currently serves as Global Chief Strategy Officer, managing practices, sectors and intellectual property globally. Katie is a member of both the Executive and Operations Committees at Edelman.
Between 2014 and 2016 Katie served as Executive Vice President for Marketing and Communications at Nielsen and was founder of Katie Burke Communications, a consulting firm.
Earlier in her career, Katie was Communications Director for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s historic re-election victory in California and for Rudy Giuliani's presidential bid. Katie also served as Director of Television News in the George W. Bush White House where she was chief liaison and spokeswoman for all television network executives, anchors and producers and was involved in a wide range of foreign and domestic policy issues. Her career began on Capitol Hill where Katie reached the positions of communications director and legislative aide after first answering the telephones in the office of her home town congressman.
Katie earned her Masters in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and graduated from Skidmore College.
Katie is a member of the Board of Directors of NCR Corporation. She serves on the Board of Trustees for Sacred Heart University where she chairs the Academic Affairs Committee. Katie is also the Vice President of the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum Board of Directors.
