Megan joined Edelman at the end of 2019, bringing 22+ years of strategic planning across a number of global agency networks working across a variety of categories including Food & Beverage, Health & Well-being and Technology. She also has a proven track record of launching new offerings within the agency model. Most recently, she founded Canteen Consulting, part of JWT, where she led brand strategy and innovation for brands ranging from Special K, Cadbury and Danone to start-ups in emerging spaces such as Cannabis and Food Tech. Van Someren also helped launch and lead JWT’s Female Tribes Consultancy, designed to re-define the role of female capital as a strategic force for brands and business including the early incubation of the Female Tribes Network, a social app designed to connect women based on their tribes and passions.
In her global brand chair role, Megan is committed to elevating Edelman’s POV, offering & IP by re-imagining the power of earned as a dynamic force for unlocking trust, cultural relevance and growth for brands. While her ambition for Food & Beverage is to work with clients, teams and partners to positively contribute to, and shape the future of what we eat and drink.
Van Someren is an ongoing contributor to media on insights relating to food and beverage trends. She’s active on panels, as both a participant and a facilitator, covering topics such as luxury in food, the future of sustainability and women in leadership.
