SXSW Interactive Survey

Leading up to the annual SXSW Interactive festival, which will kick off with a keynote from President Obama, and amid the 2016 U.S. presidential election, we partnered with SXSW to conduct an online survey of the SXSW Interactive community to explore the relationship between technology, government and societal issues.

The online survey of current and past SXSW Interactive registrants was conducted between February 18-23, 2016, and resulted in 891 responses. The study seeks to better understand this unique group’s attitudes about industry and government roles in addressing key social issues that intersect technology use and development – including data security and privacy, gun control and safety, online hate speech and emerging technologies.
