Edelman, a leading global communications marketing firm announced today that it has hired Ian McCabe as Vice Chairman, Public Affairs, Asia Pacific (APAC), effective immediately. Based in Hong Kong, McCabe will report to Jesse Lin, CEO of Edelman APAC. In this role, McCabe will lead and further strengthen Edelman’s public affairs and advisory offerings across the region, partnering closely with Stephen Kehoe, Global Chair Reputation.

McCabe joins Edelman from Burson-Marsteller, where he was most recently Vice Chairman, Public Affairs and Government Communications of APAC. He previously served as Managing Director of the Asia-Pacific Public Affairs Practice, Market Leader of Burson-Marsteller Hong Kong, and Managing Director of the firm's U.S.-centered international public affairs programs in New York.

He has also served as Senior Counsel to the leadership of Cathay Pacific Airways, Foxconn, Carlsberg, AIA, Hong Kong’s MTR, Hong Kong Jockey Club, PLDT, Petron, Saudi Aramco and many others.
