Accomplished Global News Journalist to Bolster Edelman’s M&A and Capital Markets Communications Capabilities
Edelman today announced the appointment of Nadia Damouni as senior vice president in its Financial Communications & Special Situations offering. Damouni, formerly a senior journalist at Thomson Reuters, will advise clients on communications surrounding mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism and corporate governance matters, as well as work with capital markets firms to help them drive proactive brand building programs. Damouni will start in her new role later in June and will report to Lex Suvanto, managing director of Edelman’s Financial Communications and Special Situations offering. She will be based in Edelman’s New York office.

At Thomson Reuters, Damouni served as corporate board correspondent and team leader for mergers and acquisitions, covering governance of publicly traded boards, shareholder activism and executive management succession planning on S&P and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Damouni was editor of the Americas for Dealreporter in New York, where she led a team of 10 reporters and wrote market-moving articles about M&A, regulatory, antitrust and recapitalization strategies. Damouni started her career as a political journalist, writing for English-speaking newspapers in Beirut, Lebanon and Amman, Jordan.

Damouni has been recognized throughout her career for outstanding reporting on corporate transactions, boards of directors and the global capital markets. She has been nominated for several journalism awards, including a Gerald Loeb Award, and has moderated and presented on dozens of panels around the world, including the World Economic Forum in Davos.
