What is your role and how long have you worked at Edelman?

I have worked at Edelman for five years leading our travel clients in Sao Paulo. Since I started, we have doubled the number of clients and have started offering several new services, especially for destinations, including travel trade engagement, which means relationships and activations with tour operators, travel agents, online travel agencies, airlines and other players. Currently, I am a senior manager and I also lead the “service” practice.

What is one thing that you’d like to accomplish in your job this year?

I would like to broaden the practice within Latin America. Brazil is a hub for numerous clients who have expressed interest in expanding their presence throughout the continent.

What’s something that has surprised you about the career path you’ve chosen?

I am a journalist at heart. I started my career as a reporter for a national newspaper and spent almost eight years there.

When I changed sides and started working for PR agencies, I never imagined how difficult it would be – two completely different worlds. I had to get used to the process, management, planning and overall business. At the same time, my newsroom experience was essential to bringing me where I am today.

What excites you about work every day?

I love that each day brings something different—to be able to think and learn in new ways, to have new challenges and opportunities.

What advice do you have for your 25-year-old self?

Don’t be afraid to take risks. Follow your intuition. Do your best.

What are some things you read every day?

I read the newspaper—yes, the print version!—as well as online articles and my favorite columnists. I always have a book in my bag as well.

What app do you find yourself checking all the time?

Besides Outlook, Gmail and Instagram, I check Kayak to find good travel deals.

What is the best thing about where you live?

I love the diversity of people, multiculturalism, great cultural and culinary options and, of course, the ones I love.

Inside Edelman is an ongoing series that spotlights colleagues who are doing extraordinary work across our network.
