NEW YORK—Edelman has named Pam Scheideler U.S. Head of Digital. In this role, Scheideler will oversee the integration of digital expertise across Edelman’s U.S. operation.
“Clients are having to re-think how they connect with consumers, deliver value, and build trust. Consumers are demanding more from companies – more transparency around what they stand for, more action, more accountability – and alignment between what they say and what they do,” said Edelman U.S. CEO Russell Dubner. “Pam brings a long track record in breaking convention, which is precisely what the moment demands.”
Scheideler joins Edelman from R/GA, where she most recently served as managing director of R/GA’s Los Angeles office. Prior to that, she was chief digital officer at Deutsch and has also held senior positions at Google Creative Labs, JWT New York and Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Her experience demonstrates a long history of building and running content production studios that span digital aptitudes.
Scheideler has been named one of the top 30 Creative People in Advertising by Business Insider and was recognized in the Digital 40 over 40 2018 by Campaign U.S. Her work has been recognized with multiple Titanium and Grand Prix Lions at Cannes.
“Today’s brands need to create digital surround-sound to accompany their actions and their stories, said Tristan Roy, global Digital chair, Edelman. “Pam has a history of building immersive digital experiences that integrate with culture and move at the speed of social media. She has world-class expertise at the intersection of technology, innovation and creativity.”
Scheideler starts November 16th and will be based in Edelman’s Los Angeles office. She will report jointly to Dubner and Roy, joining recent hire Chris Gee in bolstering Edelman’s U.S. digital expertise. Gee serves as the corporate affairs lead for Edelman’s U.S. digital practice, which spans over 250 experts in digital strategy, social media, experience design, and content creation.
“The world is coming to where Edelman comes from – an obsession with trust, and a focus on what authentically earns attention,” said Scheideler. “Edelman fundamentally understands that brands and customers are in a two-way dialogue, that trust and reputation is earned through actions, and that all of this is ultimately shared on digital platforms. It’s a company that continually re-defines itself in service to its clients, and I’m thrilled to help lead the next charge.”
