Seasoned digital marketer will lead renewed focus upon corporate affairs and issue advocacy campaigns

Edelman has named Aaron Guiterman as digital public affairs lead in its Washington DC office, effective immediately. Guiterman will work with regional leadership to dimensionalize Edelman’s digital public affairs offering as brands and enterprises worldwide adapt to the Administration change.

“Today, effective public affairs campaigns require continued focus upon leveraging audience insights, technology and creative strategy,” said Rob Rehg, president of Edelman’s Washington DC office. “Aaron’s leadership will help us build upon our strong track record of winning and leading work that accomplishes client goals and wins the tough issues.”

Building upon a 20-year career that has spanned consumer advertising, strategic planning and brand advocacy, Guiterman is an early pioneer of behavioral micro-targeting – the practice of employing disparate custom and syndicated research to inform highly sophisticated audience insights and creative strategies. He joined Edelman in 2014 as a senior vice president to oversee the digital strategic planning and paid media departments in Washington, DC and will continue to do so in addition to his new responsibilities. Previously, he worked at DDC Advocacy, Glover Park Group and McCann Erickson.

“In today’s highly politicized environment brands can suddenly find themselves caught in the crosshairs,” said Guiterman. “Against this backdrop, I’m excited to blend the digital and public affairs skills of our office to ensure we deliver impactful results to our clients.”
