Latest paid media hires provide the business capacity to offer clients a full range of digital solutions across the region.

Edelman, a leading global communications marketing firm, today announced the hiring of Joanna Poulton as Regional Media Operations Director, APACMEA and Diarmid Farquhar as Head of Paid Media, Australia, effective immediately.

Poulton and Farquhar’s announcement further strengthens Edelman’s Regional Senior Leadership team for Digital Performance following a string of senior hires across Edelman’s regional network in the Digital, Paid and Performance space, including Martin Shaw, Performance EVP, and hires in Shanghai, Tokyo and Dubai in addition to teams in India and Korea.

Based out of Singapore, Poulton reports into Shaw, with Farquhar out of Sydney reporting into Ben Naparstek, Director, Digital & Content.

“Our strategy is simply to provide our clients with unique communications marketing solutions, which gives them a real advantage over their competitors,” Said Shaw.  “As we continue to meet the demands of an ever-evolving market, Joanna and Diarmid’s expertise are the vital senior pieces of the puzzle, putting us in a strong position to deliver a full mix of digital solutions across paid, owned and earned channels.”

Poulton brings to Edelman more than 11 years of global media experience, working in activation, planning and communications strategy for Starcom and Group M in London before moving to Asia in 2016 to broaden her knowledge and market experience with a content production start-up.  She is charged with building the business across APACMEA, providing specialist strategic counsel and guidance on media plan development, working with the country digital and performance leads.

Farquhar has worked with a number of digital brand and marketing start-up businesses and brings with him 15 years of experience in delivering marketing and commercial success to clients across creative solutions, advertising strategy and content development. He is responsible for the integration and growth of the businesses paid media offering to clients, building a team that provides strategic counsel and innovative thinking to client media plans.

“Diarmid’s appointment reaffirms Edelman’s commitment to meeting the increasing demand from its clients for all-service, integrated communications campaigns – taking an earned at the core idea through the full marketing spectrum,” said Naparstek. “His expertise in search engine marketing, digital media planning and platform partnerships will further amplify the exceptional digital work of the Australian office’s team of videographers, designers, UX experts, social curators, programmers and producers.”

Edelman has more than 1500 employees across Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The business recently won six Cannes Lions at the 2017 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
