ATLANTA, GA, July 20, 2022 – Earlier this month, Edelman welcomed Radina Russell as the new General Manager of the Atlanta market and a senior leader for Edelman’s U.S. Financial Communications team. Most recently, Russell served on the Executive Committee at Teneo, where she was Senior Managing Director of Strategy and Communications and managed the Atlanta office.

In Russell’s previous roles at Teneo and Brunswick Group, she established a successful track record of leading major capital markets transactions and advising boards of directors, management teams and communications professionals on complex reputational issues ranging from shareholder engagement to ESG strategy.

“I believe the opportunity in Atlanta is enormous – it is such a vibrant, dynamic, diverse market – and calls for a leader with those same characteristics,” said Edelman U.S. CEO Lisa Osborne Ross when announcing Russell’s new role. “Radina’s deep expertise in advising C-suites and boards meets the moment on the complex issues that our clients are facing.”

Russell, an Atlanta native, will report jointly to Ross and to Lex Suvanto, Managing Partner & CEO for Edelman Financial Communications & Capital Markets. Her appointment comes on the heels of rapid expansion in Edelman’s offerings and services to capital markets, reflected in the 35% revenue growth experienced in Edelman’s Financial Communications practice in calendar year 2021.

“Edelman has a longstanding record of anticipating what lies ahead in a multi-stakeholder environment. Now more than ever, organizations need support navigating complex strategic, financial, reputation and brand-management issues. I’m thrilled to continue the firm’s growth trajectory and join colleagues who do such extraordinary work,” Russell said.

Russell is also a passionate advocate and expert in diversity, equity and inclusion. In 2020, she launched the Board Diversity Action Alliance to increase the number of racially and ethnically diverse directors on corporate boards. In 2021, she was recognized as one of the 25 Influential Black Women in Business by The Network Journal and Morgan Stanley for achievements in her professional career and contributions to her community.
