Investors are facing a challenging landscape for growth as global economies face headwinds from inflation and heightened geopolitical risk, to continued emerging Covid-19 variants. The uncertainty of this economic environment raises an important question: can companies that outperformed through the pandemic once again demonstrate their long-term value? Many investors are looking to the healthcare sector for answers.

The inaugural Edelman Trust Barometer Special Report: Healthcare Institutional Investors finds that while the pandemic accelerated an increase in healthcare allocation, the sector is seen as likely to continue generating returns. While healthcare as a sector has traditionally been viewed as a strategic investment in a down economy, it is clear that healthcare companies are being held to high expectations in order to earn and retain investor trust.
