Arab Youth are Redefining the Future: Between Pressure and Potential
Edelman Gen Z Lab presents the Arab Youth Outlook 2026, the first Middle East edition of our global research platform, developed in collaboration with Edelman Data & Intelligence (DXI).
Based on insights from more than 4,000 young people across 10 Arab countries, the report examines how youth aged 18 to 30 are navigating economic pressure, social constraint, and cultural change, and how they are responding with resilience, ambition, and a clear desire to be heard.
Arab youth are globally connected but often locally constrained. They are optimistic and capable, yet cautious about the systems shaping their futures. While they invest heavily in what they can control - skills, wellbeing, and identity - the greatest barriers they face remain structural, not personal.
The Arab Youth Outlook reveals what matters most to this generation, from financial security and future mobility to belonging, representation, and purpose. Crucially, it shows that optimism is strongest where young people feel supported, understood, and included.
For brands, governments, and institutions, the message is clear. Those that engage Arab youth as partners, not just audiences, will be best placed to earn their trust and help shape the region’s future.
