Youngseok Yoo has 20+ years of experience in corporate and product PR, crisis management, public affairs and corporate social responsibility.
Youngseok started his career as an economic analyst at the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), an economic think tank for the Korean conglomerates.
After FKI, he joined the Korea Economic Daily, one of the most influential economic dailies in Korea, where he reported on economic and financial news. Over his seven-year tenure, he mainly covered the Ministry of Economy and Finance, National Tax Service, Bank of Korea, Seoul Metropolitan Government, economic research institutes and foreign banks in Korea.
Following a career in journalism, Youngseok went onto work at Microsoft Korea for 13 years, with his last position being the Head of Communications. During his tenure at Microsoft, he managed almost every aspect of the business involving communications, crisis management, marketing and business operations.
Prior to joining Edelman, he was the Korea General Manager of iClick Interactive, a Hong Kong-based digital ad-tech company that helps Korean enterprises to enter Chinese online market via advertising technology and social media channels.
He has a diverse and extensive business network within Korea that spans across national media, government and business communities.
Youngseok holds a B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Economics from Korea University. He completed a doctoral coursework in Sociology at Korea University.
