Ten-year Edelman creative veteran promoted to national role

Edelman today announced the appointment of Becca Young as senior vice president, planning, effective immediately. Young will lead Edelman Canada’s planning specialty, working closely with Edelman’s offices across Canada and the global network to identify untapped opportunities for clients and bring innovative solutions to life.

“Becca’s ability to understand the crux of complex challenges has enabled us to bring forward to our clients insightful solutions,” said Tristan Roy, managing director, digital and national specialties, Edelman Canada. “Her expertise building research-based insights into compelling, effective strategies is invaluable to clients and her enthusiasm for the work she and her colleagues are doing is a constant inspiration to our Canadian team.”

Young will be responsible for broadening and accelerating Edelman’s planning specialty through the continued recruitment of top-tier talent and development of industry-leading tools and products. Young will join a specialty leadership team in Canada that delivers digital, planning, creative, technology, paid and research and analytics products to Edelman clients across the region.

In her 10 years with Edelman, Young’s creative intelligence has enhanced client programs around the network, including in the Vancouver, Washington, D.C. and Toronto offices where she has worked. Known for infusing projects and teams with energy, Young has been critical to operationalizing Edelman’s planning specialty and in elevating the firm’s creative offerings such as StoryLab.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on this role,” said Young. “Compelling insights and thoughtful strategy are the driving forces behind the best work in the market today, and more and more of this work reflects an earned-centric, social-by-design approach that Edelman is naturally built to deliver. It’s an honor to be a part of that.”
