Brings 15 Years of Experience Working Across the Middle East, United Kingdom and Australia

Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm, today announced the appointment of Nicola McAlpine as general manager for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

McAlpine will lead a team of over 70 staff across Edelman’s offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and will play a key role in planning and supporting its expansion in the Middle East.

McAlpine has 15 years of experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and reputation management across the Middle East, United Kingdom and her native Australia.

Since joining the Edelman UAE team as a director and Global Client Relationship Manager (GCRM) in 2011, McAlpine has been an integral part of the UAE management team that delivered significant growth, and has led strategic communications programs for a range of major government-related organizations and multinational businesses.

McAlpine joined Edelman UAE from Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, where she was an international communications manager. Prior to moving to the UAE, McAlpine was located at Edelman’s Melbourne office, where she spent five years working across a range of corporate clients in the finance, energy and transportation sectors.

McAlpine will also sit on Edelman’s South Asia, Middle East & Africa (SAMEA) management council which covers a region that includes 11 Edelman offices with close to 400 staff, as well as 33 affiliates and partners.
