Edelman, a leading global communications marketing firm, today announced the hiring of Juliette van der Burgt as director and head of its Singapore consumer marketing business. Van der Burgt brings 12 years of advertising, strategic planning, digital marketing and corporate brand expertise to the agency. Prior to joining Edelman, she was global business director for Qatar Airways at Grey Group in Singapore.

Van der Burgt began her career as communications manager for Mn Services, the largest pension administrators and asset managers in the Netherlands. Following that, she was an account manager and planner at ARA\TBWA. There she focused on channel activation for Heineken, FrieslandCampina and other major multi-market FMCG brands, as well as production projects and integrated campaigns for TNT, Mazars, Aruba Tourism Authority, Lexus and Tigerair. She also spent nearly a year with TBWA\CHIAT\DAY in Los Angeles creating a global strategy for Mars.

Van der Burgt has lived in Singapore for the past three years. She studied at universities in Rotterdam and Amsterdam and was a lecturer at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences, where she taught advertising and marketing communications strategy.
