Edelman today announced strategic additions to the senior leadership team in the food and culinary sector, with the recent appointments of Liz Foster and Katie Goldberg.

“Edelman’s West Coast operation is enjoying tremendous growth in the food sector,” said Amanda Glasgow, executive vice president, Western Region Consumer Marketing. “These new hires cement our already strong bench, while providing our clients with tremendous culinary expertise and setting us up for continued expansion and leadership within the food and beverage industry.”

Foster joins Edelman’s San Francisco office as senior vice president of Consumer media services and will work with a range of food and beverage clients. Foster brings more than 17 years of PR experience working in agencies and in-house positions with an emphasis on the culinary space.

Prior to Edelman, Foster was the publicity and marketing director for Phaidon, an international publisher of cookbooks. For nine years, she was responsible for planning and implementing national publicity and marketing programs for award-winning cookbooks by some of the best chefs in the world including Rene Redzepi and Ferran Adria. She organized hundreds of book launch events in major cities across the country during her tenure.

Goldberg rejoins Edelman’s Seattle office as a senior vice president and will oversee food accounts on the West Coast. With more than 15 years of PR and integrated marketing expertise, Goldberg brings a wealth of food and culinary knowledge to the Western Region.

Most recently, Goldberg served as senior vice president, communications for Major League Gaming (MLG), one of the fastest growing digital media companies, where she was at the forefront of the changing media landscape and spearheaded national media relations and social media.

Goldberg was formerly vice president of Consumer public relations for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO). Her primary focus was developing and executing integrated communications plans for all publishing, merchandising and digital programs that maximized the reach of MSLO platforms while garnering attention via external media and social channels. Goldberg was firmly planted in the culinary space liaising with tastemakers, chefs, national media and marketing partners to drive awareness for MSLO properties.
