Winner receives paid creative design internship at Edelman and potential to have shoe design produced and sold at BucketFeet

Edelman Chicago announced their partnership with footwear company BucketFeet, to create their first-ever creative design internship competition. The contest reflects the communication marketing’s firm commitment to develop best-in-class client work that has storytelling, design and creativity at the forefront. As BucketFeet’s mission is to tell artists’ stories, one pair of shoes at a time, the shoe company was a natural partner for the contest.

Candidates can apply HERE by submitting their portfolio and application by March 28. Top candidates will be selected to participate in the on-site challenge at Edelman’s Chicago office on April 6, 2016. On the day of the competition, finalists will be given plain BucketFeet canvas shoes, art supplies, design direction and guidelines. Using only the materials in front of them, finalists will create a shoe design that tells a compelling story based on the given brief. Representatives from Edelman and BucketFeet will select and announce the winner at the end of the day.

“We’re constantly finding that candidates are seeking new and innovative ways to stand out in the application process,” says Steve Slivka, Executive Creative Director, Edelman Chicago. “This opportunity provides individuals with a unique and creative way to showcase their skills, which is why it made perfect sense to partner with a Chicago-born business that has creativity and storytelling at its core.”

The winner of the shoe design competition will receive a paid creative design internship at Edelman and be charged with helping clients tell stories and communicate effectively through design. All finalists can add their shoe design to their portfolio, keep the shoe and elect to have it go through BucketFeet’s design process to potentially get their shoe produced and sold.

“Every BucketFeet shoe represents the story of the artist who created it. We are thrilled to partner with Edelman Chicago to help one artist’s story include this coveted internship, and to celebrate creativity throughout the process,” says Sona Jones, Director of Marketing at BucketFeet.

Application and more details about the internship can be found HERE. The deadline for applications is March 28.
